Ragas Institute was established by Pooja Gupta in 2008. Pooja Gupta is a performing Ghazal singer who moved to Australia in 2008. Pooja started learning Indian Classical Music at the age of 3 years, she completed her Visharad (Bachelor in Music) in 1994 and Madhyama (Diploma) in Kathak in 1998 from Bhaatkhande Sangit Vidyapith Lucknow. Her rigorous training and experience in teaching makes her a versatile artist. Pooja Gupta is also an empanelled artist for ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations). Pooja has been teaching and designing modules for Bhaatkhande Sangit Vidyalaya, India and various other schools and colleges in India. Moving to Australia, Pooja still kept in touch with her passion and imparts her well learnt knowledge to students.

Ragas welcomes students of all age groups and all nationalities. Classes are conducted once a week. Curriculum followed at Ragas is based on the Bhaatkhande Sangit Vidyalaya, India curriculum. Ragas is an off shoot of Bhaatkhande Sangit Vidyalaya, India which aims at spreading music far and wide. Ragas provides an opportunity to all those interested in the art form to come and learn the basics and fine tune their skills.
